I have been using vision boards since I was in college. Since I am such a visual person, it helps to have pictures and words that help me focus on what I hope to accomplish. And since it is almost that time to create my new year vision board, I thought it would be a great time to show you exactly how I set up mine!
How To Create Inspirational Vision Board Ideas
- Poster Board
- Xyron Creative Station Lite with Repositionable Refill
- Jillibean Soup You Make Miso Happy pack
Once you gather all your materials, it is time to sit and think. Think about what you really, truly want for your life. I like to break it down into categories.
I break my board into zones. One zone for family. Another for work. And I create others for different areas of my life. Some of my past zones have been:
I will take time to envision what I hope for in each of these categories. Once I have an idea about where or what I want to happen, I will write it down and move onto the next category.
Once I have created my visions for each category, I get to create my vision board. I will pull pictures from magazines or cut out saying from adorable scrapbook paper.
Using my Xyron Creative Station Lite, I will turn those papers into stickers to add to my vision board.
For this vision board, I used Jillibean Soup paper and stickers. I love how the paper is so bright and cheery. I designated zones on my board using the paper. Then I can add my pictures from magazines around those zones. I will add my word for the year in the middle of my board.
Another way to create a vision board is by giving a goal for each month. I have some rather analytical friends who benefit from a vision board created in this manner. The Jillibean Soup paper has months, making it the perfect accessory to an analytical vision board!
Cut out each month from the paper. Then run them through the Xyron Creative Station Lite. Adhere them to your poster board. Write your goal or word for the month under each month. This board is both functional and beautiful!!
Any way you craft your vision board, make sure you focus on the things that you want to feel/accomplish/strive for and get those on your board!!
