Back in June we started this whole process of renovating our kitchen/adding a sun room.  We had a huge hole in the backyard where the addition would go.  Which slowly transformed to our white kitchen and grey dining area.  Then we needed a few touches to make the entire room feel like home.

And I get to share with you all the fun details we did to make this space our own!

We wanted a white kitchen with dark counters.  I found these beauties from Crawford Supply.  They were incredible with helping bring my vision to life!

My husband picked out the appliances since he actually enjoys cooking.  I don’t understand that, but it’s his way to be creative!!

Our general contractor and his team created this incredible custom hood vent using reclaimed wood from a barn in Southern Illinois.  I just love the rustic touch it adds to our kitchen.

After much research, we did end up with the counter stools from Joss and Main!  I love them and they are super comfy for counter/bar stools.

Some of the fun touches I added were to this wall near the sink.  I wanted the wall to look interesting, but didn’t want to put another picture on it.  So I tried to channel my inner Joanna Gaines, and created this beauty!

I found the Farmer’s Market sign and chalkboard from Decor Steals.  The planter boxes came from Farmhouse Wares.  The greenery is from Michaels Craft Store.

I really like to keep the counters clean, so I have limited what I store on them.  Our mixer doesn’t fit in a drawer or cabinet, so it has to stay on the counters!  And, for safety reasons, we keep the knives on the counters.  Both kids can reach all the drawers, so it just makes sense to keep them in the knife block on the counter.

The double tray from Crate and Barrel holds our fruit, veggies, and other frequently eaten foods.

Our tiny Le Creuset holds our cooking salt.  We found it at Sur La Table, but I have seen them at Home Goods too!  I think it looks so cute next to our olive oil and cooking utensils on the counter.

We needed runners for in between the counter and the islands, but trying to find something was tricky.  I fell in love with these black and white runners from Crate and Barrel and had to get them!  They work perfectly with the white cabinets and the black, granite counter tops.

I am just beyond happy with how everything turned out in the kitchen!  AND I will be doing a kitchen tour on my NEW YouTube Channel coming on Wednesday!!  Subscribe to the channel so you will know whenever there is a new video (it will be on Sundays, but if you subscribe you won’t forget)!!
