This month for the DIY Dollar Store, we are focusing on red, white, and blue!! I mean, the fourth of July is right around the corner, right?!?!
I decided to make a DIY patriotic bunting fabric banner, because I love banners for the holidays! This tutorial is for a no-sew banner. All you are going to do is rip the bandanas and wrap them around twine!
DIY Patriotic Bunting Fabric Banner From The Dollar Store
- Red, White And Blue Bandanas
Lay out the bandana flat on a hard surface.
Cut the bandana in half with the scissors. I cut on the fold so it was semi-straight!
Lay the two halves over each other and flatten out.
Cut small slits at the bottom of the bandanas. I made each cut about 2 fingers wide.
Separate the two halves of the bandana.
You are going to be pulling apart the slits. It doesn’t have to be perfect! I suggest holding the fabric next to the slit you are going to pull. Then pull the bandana directly down quickly.
Repeat until all the bandanas are ripped into pieces.
Cut your twine to the size you want. I decided to add the bunting to my door wreath, so I cut the twine so I would have enough room to tie both ends to the wreath.
Fold the bandana piece in half.
Fold the bandana over the twine so the fold is touching the tips.
Pull the tips through the fold and tighten.
Repeat until your entire twine is covered with bunting, while leaving space on both ends to tie to hang.
Cut off any excess string on the bunting and enjoy!!
I love how easy this no-sew DIY patriotic bunting is to make. You can create it with so many different types of fabric for any type of celebration! Plus, it goes perfect with my DIY door wreath, which is perfect for the fourth of July!!
