Anyone else love Halloween?? It is such a fun time to decorate and dress up in fun costumes! I have also been decorating the house by adding some fun decor to our mantel. And I decided that this year I was doing a Harry Potter Halloween, with school signs, house banners, and a Nimbus 3000. (Yes, I am a total HP nerd and I am not afraid to share it!!)
I created Hogwarts school house banners to add to my Harry Potter mantel! (For full tutorial on how to make the Harry Potter school arrows, check out this post where I use my Xyron Creative Station and cardstock to make these!)

Harry Potter Halloween House Banner Tutorial
- Xyron Creative Station with Permanent Adhesive Refill
- DCWV Paper in Scarlet, Gold, Blue, Bronze, Green, Silver, Yellow, Black and White
- Cricut Maker
- Mini Clothespins
Using your Cricut Maker, cut out a large and medium banner in every color but white. I did the large banner in one color and the medium banner in the other house color.
- Gryffindor: Scarlet and Gold
- Ravenclaw: Blue and Bronze
- Slytherin: Green and Silver
- Hufflepuff: Yellow and Black
Cut out the letters for each house at Hogwarts (G, H, S, R) using your Cricut Maker. I cut out the letters in both white and black to give it a shadow effect.
I used the font “Harry P” I downloaded for free!
Run your medium banners, along with all the letters through the Xyron Creative Station with the permanent adhesive refill.
Adhere the medium banner to the large banner. Make sure the correct colors go together, because it would be awful if you put the wrong yellow on a banner and took pictures of it and had to do it all over again!!
Put each letter on each banner. I put the white letter first, then the black letter on top.
Hang the twine on the mantel and attach banner using the mini clothespins.
Enjoy your Harry Potter Halloween mantel!
I am seriously enjoying how adorable this mantel turned out!! I just love the Hogwarts house banners along side the school arrows.
