I am a plant lady. There, I said it!! I love plants. I feel like it makes the room come alive! But I am running out of space to put them on tables in our living room and kitchen.
So when I was walking around the Dollar Store, looking for inspiration for this month’s My Dollar Store DIY post, I found these amazing wire baskets and twine. I knew exactly what I needed to make… a macrame knock-off indoor plant hanger.
Not only is this indoor plant hanger the easiest things ever, but you can create it to any length you want. Making it perfect for hanging inside windows or on lower ceilings!
Easiest Way To Make Indoor Plant Hangers Tutorial
Materials
- Wire Basket (found in the faux flowers aisle at my Dollar Store)
- Twine (found in the craft aisle at my Dollar Store)
Tutorial
Step One
Remove wire hanger from basket. I had to move it around a little to get one side off. Then the other side just popped off.
Step Two
Measure out the length you want the basket to hang. I measured from the top of the window to where I want the top of the basket to hang.
Step Three
Measure the twine to the length you want. Then fold twine over itself. Cut the twine at that length.
Step Four
Repeat step three for three more pieces of twine.
Step Five
Run the twine through the loop on the basket. Make a knot with the twine at the loop. Repeat this step for the other loop in the wire basket.
Step Six
Find the middle of basket on one side. Run the twine through the wire in the middle. Create a knot with the twine. Repeat for the other side.
Step Seven
Take all the ends of the twine and pull together. Create one knot with all the pieces of twine.
Step Eight
Add a plant and hang!
I love this project because it is super easy but is so useful when it comes to adding plants to rooms that don’t have much table space!
