My office and craft room is filled with color. I might have every possible color of the rainbow in this space. It makes me happy to see all the colors when I am working. So I created watercolor labels to add to my craft room drawers so that things stay organized and colorful!

How To Create Watercolor Labels

This post was created in part of the Xyron Design Team, in partnership with Derwent Acadmey. Some links may contain affiliates.

Materials

Tutorial

Step One

Using the watercolor pencils, color over a piece of watercolor paper. To create the rainbow effect, start with red by coloring a small part of the paper. Then move to orange, etc. until the entire paper is covered.

Step Two

Wet your paintbrush and paint over the paper to create a watercolor effect.

Step Three

Once the paper is dry, cut out the labels. I used my Cricut Maker but die cuts or by hand works as well!

Step Four

Write on the labels using a dark marker.

Step Five

Run each label through the Xyron Creative Station Lite with laminate refill.

Step Six

Cut out each label leaving a small amount of room around the outside of the label.

Step Seven

Using a small hole punch, punch on each side of the label.

Step Eight

Attach each label to the bin using the brad by placing it in the hole punch.

Step Nine

Finish organizing your craft supplies by keeping like items contained. Most of my drawers have boxes as organizers because they are the perfect size for my supplies and I don’t care if they get gross from my supplies!

I absolutely love how these watercolor labels add a nice touch of color to my already colorful craft room! Once all the bins are labeled, I plan to redecorate the place using all the colors that are in the labels!! Stay tuned to see how that turns out!
