Yesterday was the first day of the new year, but it just so happened to land on a Thursday.  Well, I can’t start things in the middle of the week.  I have to start things on Mondays…it is just how my mind gets organized.  I know it’s totally weird, but that’s just how I roll.

So on Monday I am starting to begin my goals for 2015.  I decided this year I would focus on three main priorities in my life: my family, my gratitude/managing my expectations, and my blog (this thing you are reading)!

Once I got my priorities figured out, I sketched out goals for each of the three priorities I listed above.  These are three areas I would like to expand my knowledge and improve my skills in specific areas.  I want to read more on positive parenting, which is a goal I am going to do for my family.  I plan on making reasonable expectations for my family and friends along with continuing my gratitude journal.  I started this journal last year to document positive moments that happened daily.  It has been a very affirmative experience for me in continuing to keep my focus on the positive, even when things get really chaotic.  For the blog, I decided to keep my focus on things I love doing, which are crafting, organizing and sharing my mama knowledge.  My plan is to continue with projects and share posts with you 3-4 times a week. (Oh yeah, and to drink more water!)

To obtain these goals, I wrote down my 3 month, 6 month, 9 month and 12 month expectations for where I would like be in relation to my set goal.  My hope is that by using those benchmarks, I will be able continue to focus on the goals and not fixate on how I will get there, making the process less overwhelming.

By organizing my goals and benchmarks for 2015, I am hoping to meet all three goals by 2016!  I hope you all have a wonderful second day of the new year.  Take a second and write down one goal and how you plan to meet it.  If you’d be willing, I’d love to hear what you plan to do!  By writing it down, you are more likely to accomplish that goal, so why not give it a try?!
