How To Effectively Store All The Kids Hair Accessories
My daughter must have magically created extra hair ties, bows, and headbands because I have no idea where they all came from! I just keep finding more and more hiding throughout her room.
Maybe I just never noticed that she had so many.
I have been working on refreshing her bedroom since we never really made the transition from toddler room to big girl room. So as I am clearing out her baby stuff and rearranging her furniture, I noticed a huge pile of hair ties lying around her room.
I was in need some ways to effectively store all my daughter’s hair accessories, so I started to play around with some different organizing tools I love.
She has a bow holder that I made when she was first born. I used an old picture frame and spray painted it. After removing the back, I stapled some ribbon to the frame. I hung that frame up using 3M picture hanging strips.
That bow holder was working when all she had was bows. But now we have headbands and hair ties and clips. I wanted to find a way to keep all of these things contained, but still accessible to her. I love that she is able to pick out what she wants to wear in her hair, so I want to keep encouraging that.
The bow holder did have hooks to hold headbands, which ends up being the perfect place to store them!
All that was left were the hair ties and clips.
I started by collecting all the hair ties. (She has a lot!) But I quickly realized that some were starting to break (or were actually mine), so I sorted the hair ties and ended up with a much more manageable pile. The remaining hair ties she has I put on a ring holder.
I can display the hair ties in this pretty ring holder and keep the hair ties contained and accessible! I love how pretty it looks on her shelf too!
She doesn’t have that many clips, so I tried putting the clips in the ring holder. That didn’t last long! So I ended up finding an old acrylic jewelry drawer organizer, similar to this one.
I ended up storing all her clips and some of her hair ties in this jewelry drawer organizer. And she actually loves it! She thinks it is so fun to play with and can organize the hair accessories all by herself.
I am so happy that I found a way to keep all the hair accessories contained! Do you have any tricks for keeping your kiddos’ hair accessories organized??
