5 Easy Ways To Host A Gluten Free BBQ

These 5 tips for ways you can host a gluten free BBQ for anyone that is both safe and easy. Now everyone can enjoy the summer festivities without worry!

Having a gluten allergy can totally change how you BBQ. So I created my tips for ways you can host a gluten free BBQ for anyone that is both safe and easy. Now everyone can enjoy the summer festivities without worry!

5 Easy Ways To Host A Gluten Free BBQ

This post was created in collaboration with Sweet Ali’s Gluten Free Bakery. All thoughts and opinions are my own, but these buns are truly the best thing in the entire world. Even if you aren’t gluten free!

Prep Food Carefully

The best way to host a gluten free BBQ-er is to just prep with care. By that, I mean that going the extra step is greatly appreciated. My husband always buys the “throw away” baking pans to use for any event. Not only is this easy to ensure no cross contamination, but also an easy way to distinguish between what is gluten free and what is not.

Grill Like A Pro

When you are grilling those gluten free buns, make sure you use aluminum foil. This ensures that there is no cross contamination.

People with gluten allergies can vary in how their body responds to gluten. By using extra care when you are being a total gluten free boss!!

Don’t forget to use or wash grilling items that touch gluten-filled food. We have two sets of grilling tongs and flippers for that reason!

Best Buns

The best things to add to any BBQ is buns for the burgers and hot dogs. But not all gluten free buns are created equally. To me, what makes BBQ’s so much fun is eating burgers in those fluffy buns with all the toppings.

Sweet Ali’s Gluten Free Bakery has hamburger and hot dog buns that are the fluffiest I have ever had!! To make the buns fluffy, microwave them for about 30 seconds. Then lay them on aluminum foil on the grill for a few minutes. It doesn’t take long to get the buns grilled while still fluffy!

Label

As you are setting up the meal, it is always appreciated when things are labeled. It can be something rather easy like paper that says “GF” on the gluten free foods. Or you can get super fancy and create some adorable hand lettered labels.

When All Else Fails…

Now, not everyone is comfortable doing all of this, so if you are hesitant to host a gluten free BBQ, ask your guest if they wouldn’t mind bringing something they know they can eat. I never get offended when people ask me this. And sometimes it is just easier, because I never want the host or hostess to feel uncomfortable because I have a food allergy.

But the one thing that everyone can agree on is grabbing buns and hamburgers (along with some amazing cookies) from Sweet Ali’s Gluten Free Bakery for your gluten free BBQ! You can order online or pop in the store to stock up on these summer goodies.
