I am so not a morning person. It takes me forever to wake up and get moving. So then my kids drag in the morning because I do. Then we are never out the door on time. It is a cycle that I knew I needed to stop so I could feel like I was productive in the mornings.

But how do you go from blah to productive? These easy tips will help get you feeling like you have done something worthwhile in the morning, while your kids are running around!! And it all starts with a good cup of coffee!

How To Feel Productive In The Mornings With Kids

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and The J.M. Smucker Company, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #1850Coffee #1850CoffeeatMeijer. For more, read my disclosure.

Coffee

The first thing I have to do every morning is have a cup of coffee. This helps me gain focus for the day. I don’t look at my phone or check any social media. I just sit and focus on my day.

I have been drinking a lot of this new coffee called 1850 Brand Coffee! Its unique blend of ground coffee that delivers bold, yet smooth taste, while evenly roasted for consistent coffee flavor with less bitterness. 1850 Brand Coffee is available in four signature blends of Ground and K-Cup coffee and will also be available in 3 Ready to Drink flavors.

By starting your day with a bold cup of coffee, making bold decisions will happen naturally. Back in 1850, J.A. Folger started something new help the prospectors as they went to boldly find their fortune. Today, there’s still no better way to get after life than with a bold-yet-smooth cup of coffee. 1850 Brand Coffee is the official coffee of bold people fueling original ideas, new commitments, and brave endeavors!

Top 3

While I am drinking my 1850 brand coffee, I like to select my top 3 things I need to accomplish during the day. It can be something super simple, like empty the dishwasher, or something more time-consuming like put away laundry. I try to keep my top 3 to things that are steps.

So instead of saying “laundry”, I would say “wash clothes”. By breaking down the tasks into steps, you are more likely to accomplish each task.

I also insist on writing it down. That way you are able to see everything you said you were going to do for the day!

Accountability

The last step in how to feel productive with kids is to make yourself accountable. There are a few ways that I have found to do that.

One way is to tell someone your top 3 for the day. A spouse or family member is an easy person to tell! Another way is to share it via social media. It’s your virtual way of writing it down and sharing what you plan to do. And a third way is to give yourself deadlines by setting timers on your phone. By this time you will have emptied the dishwasher for the day. That one little reminder will help keep you on track!

So when you are feeling like you need to change your morning routine, try these easy tips! Start your day by drinking some delicious 1850 brand coffee, creating a top 3 list of things to accomplish for the day, and find a way to hold yourself accountable!!

If you haven’t already, head to your local Meijers store and grab some 1850 brand coffee. Visit Meijer from 5/6 – 6/2 and take $1 off any 1850 Brand Coffee Product with the mPerk digital coupon (while supplies last)!
