I have really been getting into the spirit of spring… probably because my kids were home all last week for spring break.
But the weather in Chicago has not been my friend.
It has been cold and rainy and gloomy and gross.
So, I decided to turn my home into a bright, upbeat, spring-y space with a few crafting projects for home decorating!
Yesterday, I shared an easy way to make paper garland for National DIY Day! Head over to my Facebook page for the full tutorial and supply list!
I added that garland to our mantel to give it a spring/summer touch!
Then, I also decorated some candles using DCWV paper and On Point Glue.
I put the candles around the house to add some pops of color. I am not planning on burning them… they are solely for decoration. I repeat DO NOT BURN THE CANDLES WITH PAPER ON THEM!!
This banner was created using my favorite paper cutting machine, the Silhouette Cameo. I decorated the banner to add some spring colors to our home. Then, I attached the banner to a piece of burlap.
I have it sitting in our entry way on a clipboard stand I found at Target.
It just makes the perfect way to welcome everyone into our home!
And with the kids back in school this week, I can start organizing and decorating our powder room because… drum roll please… I am participating in the One Room Challenge again!!
Last spring I completed our basement in a short 6-weeks. This spring, I will be totally updating our powder room on the main floor.
After the renovation of our kitchen, our powder room just kind of sat there. Looking boring.
So, over the next 6 weeks, I will be transforming a rather tragic-looking space, into something spectacular!
Follow along every Wednesday as I update you on the process!
