I cannot believe August is half-way over! Where did the summer go?? Many of my friends in other states have already started or are starting school rather soon. I guess we start late around here! The focus today for the organize back to school challenge is to get the kitchen and lunch-prep stations organized.

Kitchen:
Getting the kitchen organized can be rather easy, since we just got the pantry organized yesterday! Here are some easy kitchen tips for keeping things organized:
- Use spice racks like these from The Container Store.
- Use hooks to hang things like oven mitts and aprons.
- Use a lazy Susan for corner cabinets so you can find things easily and quickly.
- Label everything so you know what is in each container.
- Make sure you can read all the labels of the food items you have. This makes finding things quickly, incredibly easy!
Lunch Prep:
So this is going to be the first year that my oldest will go to lunch at school. It’s kind of bitter-sweet because I enjoy lunchtime with him, but think it’s a good idea that he spends some time away (in hopes) that he tries some new things!
To create a lunch-prep station, I looked to some fellow bloggers for inspiration!

Jen from IHeart Organizing shared her school lunch station for her boys. I love how she has all of their lunch items categorized in one cabinet. And all of their lunch items were organized in her fridge with labels!

The Handmade Home shared how they get the kids ready for lunch by using these reusable lunch bags to keep the kids food organized. They are keeping it super easy with these adorable bags for packing lunch.

Better Homes and Gardens shared a great tip to prep and label everything, including everything in your freezer! By writing down dates and labeling everything, you are sure to keep all of your items organized for easy lunch-prep.

Real Simple has some great lists for what to put into a lunch-prep station. I like how they store everything in a Tupperware as a budget-friendly option to keeping your lunches organized.
So what are you going to work on today? Kitchen, lunch stations, both? I’d love to hear about it and see pics! Share your progress using the #organizeback2school! And don’t forget to follow along on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ for more pictures and tips!
