Happy first day of fall!!
Here in Chicago it does not feel like fall, with it being almost 90 degrees yesterday!
But, since the calendar says it is suppose to be fall, I guess it is time for a fall home tour with tons of pastel touches! Plus, I have a bunch of blogger friends who are sharing their homes for this fall home tour, too.
Welcome to my humble abode! This year for fall decor, I decided to do pastels because the colors inside our home are more pastel-y than the typical bold colors of fall.
Our entryway has the pumpkins I created from this past month’s Dollar Store DIY. I changed out the ribbon for the lace I used on the mantel banner.
Not much else with our entry way has changed. I still have my amazing IKEA upholstered bench and baskets our shelving above the bench.
Our mantel got a total overhaul when I got it set up for fall!
I started by creating a fall banner using burlap, lace, and some decorative clothespins.
Then I spray painted some hot chocolate bottles and added some cotton and faux flowers in some pastel colors.
Finally, I added some pink pumpkins, white pumpkins, and some plants to the mantel.
I got a new pillow from Living With Amanda that I am IN LOVE with! It is perfect for my pastel decor!
I also added some velvet pumpkins to my trick and treat planter box!
I also found a pumpkin in the Target Dollar Spot that I added a felt flower and a pumpkin spice saying.
My custom wooden sign from my friend Alicia of The Welcoming District is perfect on our shelves as well near the pumpkin spice sign I made!
In our dining room, I added some velvet pumpkins I found that the Target Dollar Spot to our shelving, next to my gather sign and farmhouse wall decorative board I made.
Finally, on our living room table, I like to keep things simple because this is where we eat. I wanted to keep all the decor low so we could see each other across the table. I started with two lanterns I have from Yankee Candle. I added a bunch of velvet pumpkins from Target Dollar Spot, along with some glittery pumpkins I had.
And to keep with the fall theme, I tidied up our kitchen drawers to get ready for fall/winter. I started by taking all the summer stuff like grilling and moving it toward the back of the drawers. I moved our winter stuff, like crock pots and baking items toward the front. This helps get me ready for fall cooking!

Your pastel fall decor is so lovely! I love that pink pumpkin on your mantle!
I am so in love with your front door, and the wreath on it is perfect. I wouldn’t have thought to do pastels for the fall, but now I want to go back and add some to my decor. They’re beautiful!
Thank you!! I am loving the yellow too! Should be a nice pop of color once winter snow hits!
I love how you’ve used color in your home. That yellow door is amazing! The pastel fall decor is a perfect compliment 🙂
Thank you Denise!
Such lovely pastel fall decor! And such a great idea about switching out the kitchen utensils – I usually just shove everything to the back of the drawer until it’s needed next season but completely overhauling the drawers is so much better!
Best,
Kelly
Thank you Kelly!! I love the pastels!
