Now that the kids are back in school, it truly feels like fall!
And with that fall feeling comes all the fall decorating!!
This year I really wanted to do something totally different with our fall decor. Instead of the traditional orange/red/yellow, I wanted to do something that fit in with our home/color schemes.
See we don’t have ANY red in our house. Like none. So putting the fall red to decorate just wasn’t working for me.
Instead, I am going with a pastel fall mantel decor for the season!
I found some pink, white, and light green pumpkins at Michaels, which would make the perfect color scheme against our deep purple walls!
I also got some burlap and lace to create a DIY burlap fall banner for the mantel! You can see the entire tutorial over at Giggles Galore, where I shared all my tips for how you can create this no-sew banner!
Once I got the pumpkins and some florals home, I went and “shopped the house”. That’s when I look around to see what I have that I can use in the space to create a different look without spending any money!
I found some candle holders that were from our wedding from Crate and Barrel. These would make the perfect addition to the pastel fall mantel as the colors work!
Finally, I added a plant in an adorable wooden box to add some charm to the pastel fall mantel!
Then I took some empty hot chocolate jars and spray painted them with chalkboard spray paint. Once they dried, I added some florals to them on a wooden tray in front of our mirror.
I am really loving how soft yet festive the mantel is turning out with the pastels. I think I will end up adding more too the space, but for now it is perfect!
