Who is excited for Valentine’s Day?  I have been in full-on Valentine’s Day craft mode for the past few weeks.  I love decorating for this holiday because it is the only time that I can cover the house in all pink and Ben won’t say anything because it goes with the holiday!!  I shared one of my favorite posts last week, the Valentine’s Candy Wreath.

Growing up, Valentine’s Day was always a fun holiday because we had a party at school and you got a ton of candy.  But, there is one thing that just stands out to me about Valentine’s Day.  I remember growing up, we had a first grade teacher who would make different Valentine’s out of candy.  They were like a work of art.  She would make airplanes, cars, trains, and boats.  I remember one year, she made an airplanes as her Valentine for my class.  She use Lifesaver candies for the wheels, and a stick of gum for the wings.  I think she used a roll of Lifesavers candy for the base of the airplane.  So whenever I get the chance, I like to make gifts for my kiddos’ friends.  It reminds me of how special I felt getting that handmade Valentine, and I want to have others experience that joy too!  So today, I created two fun printables for you and the kiddos.  They aren’t as crafty as the candy airplane, but they are still special!

You Are Dino Mite Valentine's Cards

Since my oldest is obsessed with dinosaurs, I thought that he could give his friends dinosaur Valentine’s cards.  I found these dinosaurs in a container at Target.  Using the Dino Mite Valentines template I created, I printed the cards onto card stock and cut the cards out using a paper cutter.  Then, I attached the dinosaurs onto each card using decorative Washi tape.

Hoppy Valentine's Day Cards

Another adorable option for Valentine’s day cards is to use these jumping frogs from Oriental Trading Company and print off my free printable for a Hoppy Valentine’s Day.  Print the cards off onto card stock and add a small amount of glue to the frog so it will stay on the card.  Then the kiddos can make the frogs hop all over the place after they peel off from the Valentine’s Day card.
