Packing up a house takes so much time, especially if you have lived in the same place for a while. So, how do you decide what to pack and what to declutter? Today, we discuss how you can declutter and pack for a move!

Show Notes

Before you start anything else, you need to come up with a plan. Ideally, you will need 30 days if you have more time, great! If you have less than 30 days, you must be very strategic in your planning phase.

Don’t just throw everything in boxes and attempt to declutter in your new home. Use the time you have to declutter as you go thoughtfully.

As you are packing up your boxes, if you notice something you never use, ask yourself if you want to take it with you. If something is hiding, is it worth taking with you?

I always recommend that you start in your storage spaces. At this point, you are still in the excitement mode of moving. This is a great place to start since it tends to be a place where things can pile up.

Give yourself a specific time that you are going to pack. Even if it is small, set the intention. Decluttering, packing, and moving can be very overwhelming. Set yourself up for success by creating a plan!

One of my biggest tips to ease the moving process is color-coding the rooms. You can do this very easily with different colors of tape!

The questions I want you to focus on when moving are: does this item fit into the new home? Am I going to showcase this item? Do I want to bring this item into my future? When you are thoughtful about what you take into your new home, it can save you money!

Happy moving!
