In today’s episode of Organizing Tune-Ups, I’m sharing tips for teaching your teens how to organize and learn to let go as a parent! Letting go of our own expectation for organizing teens will help them as they develop their own organizing skills.

Show Notes

Today’s focus is teaching teens how to organize. Teens fall into the range of middle school to high school and even college-aged. If this is the earliest you are starting to teach them organizing skills, that’s still great! You will be able to set them up with great tools to be organized later in life. One of the hardest things is that you need to let them take ownership of their space.

Ask them questions about their space. Starting the conversation with some basic questions, you can really get an idea about how they feel about the space they live in.

Don’t be afraid of compromise!

Doing laundry is such an important task for kids of all ages. Having two laundry baskets can be incredibly beneficial. One for clean laundry and one for dirty laundry. Then, they aren’t rushed to put items away, and they won’t get clean and dirty items mixed up.

Start the conversation today!
