There are seven items in your home office right now that you can get rid of immediately. Yes, seriously. This week, we are getting rid of all the clutter in your home office.

Show Notes
Buckle up friends, we are taking action in the home office today. If you can, go into your home office while you are listening to the episode and start the process!
- Get rid of junk mail. You don’t need this. Shred, recycle it, or throw it away. You don’t need it. “But what if I need it?” Look through it now, pull out anything you may actually need, and get rid of the rest.
- Anything broken. Why are you holding on to this item? Are you planning to get it fixed if it is broken? Then go put it in your car right now so you can get it fixed. Otherwise, get rid of those broken items now. The exception is if it is a sentimental item.
- Documents you can get digitally. My favorite thing to start with is manuals. Medical records is another great item to digitize!
- Cables and cords. Some cords you know what they go with, but others you don’t. Get rid of those cords that you don’t know what item they belong to. If you don’t have the item it belongs to, then you obviously don’t need the cord.
- Old calendars or planners. It can be nice to keep things to get your remember things, but you don’t need to keep them all. Is there a picture you like in one of them? Take it out and keep it.
- Old magazines or newspapers. This also includes old documents from college. Not sure if you will still need it? Turn it digital!
- Anything that doesn’t inspire you. Is it visually distracting you from working? Get rid of it. Artwork, clutter, all of it. You want to be inspired where you work.
