This year, my kids are going to sleepover camp. Which is going to be a totally new experience for them. I am so excited they are going to be able to enjoy themselves. Do camp-y things. And learn life skills in a safe environment.

I am breaking down all they was I am getting the kids organized for overnight summer camp.

Teaching Organizing

The very first step I am taking to get the kids organized for overnight summer camp is teaching them some basic organizing skills.

This starts now. Things like putting clothing in the laundry basket. Making their beds. And putting their laundry away.

I also teach them how to pack a suitcase or bag for vacations or trips. This will help them as they have to pack up once overnight camp ends. They will know how to make everything fit into their bags or trunks.

By teaching the kids these basic organizing skills now, they are more likely to keep up with them at summer camp. Which means you don’t have to worry about things not making it home after camp.

Labels

The next thing to keep your kids organized for summer camp is to label everything. And I mean everything!

When everything is labeled, there is no question about what items actually belong to your child.

Name Bubbles has the best camp labels pack. Designed to be extra durable to handle big adventures, these labels are washable, sunblock, and bug spray-proof! Which means the labels won’t fall off those heavily used items.

I make sure to label each shoe, which Name Bubbles Camp Labels Pack has included in the set!

And we label every piece of clothing that is going to overnight camp.

Packing

When it comes to packing, I make sure the kids are the ones who actually do the packing. I sit with them to pack, but they need to know where everything is going.

This way, they can pack up once their camp session is over. And I am not stressed about them trying to fit everything in their bags.

I try to keep things together in baggies, like shampoo and body wash. This will hopefully help keep their clothing clean on the way to camp. You know, if something accidentally pops open and spills all over their clothes for they packed! That would be the worst!

So using baggies to keep those liquid items contained and protected from spills is helpful.

There are some special events the camp does, so the kids will pack those outfits in baggies as well. My thought is by putting those items in baggies, they won’t pull them out to wear on a regular day. But will remember that those special outfits are packed in a baggie.
