Who doesn’t have mounds of laundry sitting around waiting for you to put away??  Well not me!! I always seem to have crazy amounts of laundry that needs to be put away. But, on the plus side, I always have a place to put the clothes thanks to these space saving folding tips I have learned throughout the years!

Space Saving Folding Tips

Kids Clothes

Shirts

Lay out the shirt with the front facing down. Then fold the sleeves into the middle. Fold the bottom up 1/3. Fold the top over. Place in drawer standing up.

Pants

  • Longer Pants: Fold pants in half. Then in half again. Fold in half one last time.
  • Shorter Pants: Fold pants in half. Then fold waist over 1/3. Fold bottoms over. You end up folding 1/3 and 1/3.
  • Shorts: Fold in half. Then fold the waistband to the middle. Then fold over again.

Adult Clothes

Shirts

Lay flat. Fold one side into the middle (about 1/3). Then fold the other side into the middle (about 1/3). Then fold the top of the shirt into the middle. Fold the bottom over the last fold.

Pants

Fold pants in half. Then in half again. Fold in half one last time.

Socks

Lay socks together. Fold top over 1/4. Fold the bottom to meet (about 1/4 fold). Then fold the entire sock in half. Store standing up in your drawer.

Underwear

Lay flat. Fold middle up to touch waistband. Then fold the left side on top of the middle. Repeat with right. Store standing in drawer.

Towels

Wash

Lay flat. Fold 1/3. Then fold the other side 1/3. Fold in half. Store standing up.

Hand

Lay flat. Fold over 1/3. Then fold the other side 1/3. Fold the towel in half. Then fold in half again. Store standing up in a bin.

Body

Fold the towel in half. Then fold the top over about 1/3. Fold the bottom over the top. Fold in half.
