big topic which is why I’m breaking it down into two episodes.
Yes! Your kids can be organized too.
Today we will be talking about where to start with how to get toddler to elementary-aged kid to start organizing.

Show Notes
The most important thing is to get your kids actively involved in organizing their own space. Their bedroom is the perfect place to start! It can be tough to hand over that control, but giving them ownership helps them take pride in their room. If it feels organized to them, that’s a win.
No matter their age, kids can help fold and put away clothes. Toddlers often pull things out of drawers just to see what’s inside. But when they help put items away, they already know what’s in each bin—so they’re less likely to dig everything out.
And remember: just because you own something doesn’t mean you have to keep it. Invite your kids into the decluttering process. Take your time going through hand-me-downs or what they already have, and help them decide what’s worth keeping.
Let them choose how to set up their bedroom. That can feel tricky, but you can guide them by offering suggestions or asking if they’d like help. When kids get to decide where things go and how the space works, they feel more in control of their environment.
So start with their bedrooms, and let them take the lead! The goal is to help them build basic organizing skills now—so you’re not doing it all later.
