The other day, I saw a YouTube short where a girl with ADHD was trying to clean her space before the song finished. It was one of those back-and-forth videos where she was cleaning while talking to herself acting like someone else. It was an ADHD task hack she was sharing.

And it got me thinking. I do that all the time. I will turn basically any boring task into a challenge to complete before something finishes.

So why not use that same concept for decluttering? Let’s use turning things into a game as an ADHD task hack for decluttering!

How To Turn Decluttering Into A Game

Like any mundane task, our ADHD brains need to turn them into something exciting to get the done.

So let’s start with ways you enjoy gaming.

Do timed activities give you the adrenaline to get things done? If so, use music or a timer to complete one small task like decluttering a drawer in your closet.

Does completing an entire list in a day give you the rush you need to do boring tasks? If so, write down specific spaces you are going to declutter (I’d say up to 5). Then cross them off your list every time you complete a task.

Do you like BINGO? If so, join our monthly declutter BINGO challenge!

Let’s Try This Together

Monthly BINGO is just like it sounds. You will get a BINGO card with declutter tasks on it. Your job is to get 5 spaces filled in a row.

These tasks are short, actionable, and will make a big impact on your home.

Things like clean the fridge. Donate picture frames. And relabel an area of your home that needs a refresh.

I will be writing specific with tips and strategies for each of the BINGO space tasks.
