Cozy Bedding

Fall time is all about warm and cozy… so time to get those flannel sheets and warm blankets out of storage. Place snuggly blankets and throws… everywhere!  Add in rich tones and textures like woven fabrics, knits and velvet. Accent with autumn colors like a deep brown, burnt orange, rich red or golden yellow.  Think layers, thick and texture!

Natural Fall Accents

As the air gets crisp and the leaves start to change color, it’s time to add more natural elements inside your home. Add life and beauty to your space with seasonal autumn blooms and decorative branches or pinecones. You can go outside and forage leaves and branches and make a centerpiece for your dining table or put them in a vase on your mantel. For an instant refresh, add a pop of pumpkins… white pumpkins are my personal favorite!

Warm Up Your Home

Chilly weather means spending more time indoors, so Fall is the perfect season to warm up your home! Swap out your light and breezy pillows and throws for cozy, warm autumn colored ones to help shift your home’s color palette. For an added touch, display extra blankets by rolling and placing near your couch in a woven basket, or draping over the back of the chair.  Another easy way to warm your home and add another touch of Fall decor is to make a ‘Thankful’ banner and hang it on your mantel.

Decorative Candles & Scents

Nothing is cozier than a soft glowing candle.  I like to place candles all over my house during this time of the year. Not only are they physically warm and welcoming… they are also beautiful to look at and smell!  Some of my favorite candle scents this time of year are Apple Cider, Pumpkin Spice and Chai Tea… Mmmmm!

Door Mats & Accent Rugs

Time to change out your welcome mat. It’s probably due for a replacement after the hot sun and sandy, muddy feet have worn it out.  For added fun, try layering your rugs.  Outside, place your doormat over a seasonal colored rug. A jute rug inside your home, with an accent rug on top is so cozy and inviting. Fall is definitely the season of layering!

Porch Decor

To celebrate this beautiful season, add a wreath made from twigs and dried leaves to create a beautiful entrance to your home. You can also surround your door with some colorful floral arrangements, pumpkins, gourds and a couple hay bales. Try painting your front door – freshen it up before the cold winter hits… a classy grey, black or maybe a bold red!
