In our house, art is one thing we do every day. Whether it is drawing, coloring, painting, beading, or gluing, we are doing something crafty. To store all these supplies, we are sharing kids art supply storage ideas that you can use in your home to inspire art for your kiddos.

Art Cart

We love art carts. Because you can pull the cart over to wherever you are and get crafty. Using a cart also helps keep all the art supplies together so you don’t have to worry about things getting placed in the wrong bin. All the art supplies stay on the cart.

For our art cart, we have a 3-tiered cart. On the top of the cart, we store papers and coloring books in magazine holders.

The drawing supplies are stored in bins that hold each type of coloring utensil.

Dotters and stamps are stored on the bottom in a turntable.

Everything that is out on the art cart are things that the kids can use whenever they are in the mood to get crafty.

To recreate the art cart for your home, start by gathering up all the art supplies you want to keep on the art cart. Then group like supplies together. Find storage for those items. Then place each item on shelves so the kids can easily grab and create!

Other Art Supplies

But other things like paints are stored in a separate location. Because those are things that I don’t have them to have access to all the time as I like to supervise when they paint. Watercolors are fine, but the other paints I store with my craft supplies.

For my in home clients, we have stored paints in a high cabinet near the art supplies or near craft supplies. Just keep those items in a spot that you can reach but the kids cannot.

Kids Art Supply Storage

These are my favorite products to use when I create art carts. First figure out what art supplies you have. Then find products that will work to hold your supplies. This will help you use only the things you need!
