A Realistic Guide To Spring Cleaning

When it comes to spring, are you ready to open the windows and air out the house? This ultimate spring cleaning guide will help guide you through all the things you can do to get your home ready for spring!

My least favorite task is probably cleaning… or loading the dishwasher. But this time of year gets me antsy for spring cleaning because I want to open the windows, air out the house, and set up our patio area.

I usually end up getting through half of those checklists with all the things you have to do in order to spring clean your home. So I decided to create a more realistic approach to spring cleaning.

My Favorite Spring Cleaning Products

The first thing I think of for spring cleaning is cleaning products. We have been in the process of switching out all our old cleaning supplies with more natural cleaners.

I have been shopping at Grove Collaborative for a few months now, and I am just loving how easy it is to order natural cleaning supplies. Plus they are delivered right to my door, so I don’t have to worry about running to the store with my two crazies in tow!!

If you sign up, you get a FREE Mrs. Meyer’s hand soap and a $10 credit to buy all your goodies!! You can also grab my favorite cleaning supplies below.

Cleaning The Home

I always start with upstairs and work my way down. My thinking is that I have more energy to actually clean the bedrooms and bathrooms when I first start cleaning, verses me coming down from my cleaning high.

Start in the bedrooms and clean windows, screens, bedding, ceiling fans, and mattresses. Move into the bathrooms to clean windows and screens, if necessary.

Vacuum everything, including the baseboards, then move to the main floor. Focus on windows and floors. I try to move furniture to vacuum under.

Continue until all windows, screens, and floors are cleaned.

I suggest this because you want to get all the dust out of your home before you open all those windows. That’s how I am being realistic when it comes to spring cleaning!!

Declutter As You Go

Finally, as you are going through each room, just take a peek to see if there is anything you can declutter. Is there something in that room that is bothering you or you just don’t like? Donate or trash! It is the easiest way to declutter for spring!!

  1. Excellent and very helpful tips Jessica! I take Spring cleaning as an opportunity to detox my home, declutter unwanted items. Doing so enhances clarity, stay organized, and increases my efficiency.

Usually, I make my own DIY cleaners for day-to-day cleaning, but I think I should try a few commercial natural cleaners for special occasions.

    Thank you 🙂

  2. Your tips are handy. It was beneficial for us to tell us How to Keep Your House Clean. You have so much useful information on “ Realistic Guide To Spring Cleaning”. My grandfather is always worried about the beauty & cleanses of home & Lawn. I have read your steps; I have had a wave of hope. I will follow these steps and the product you used.
